McDougall Communications Named Non-Profit Marketer of the Year for Return to Normandy Campaign
ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 26, 2015 — An outreach campaign that brought global attention to the historic return of a C-47 aircraft to the skies over Normandy, McDougall Communications has been named 2015 non-profit marketer of the year at the prestigious American Marketing Association Pinnacle Awards.
Developed and conducted by McDougall Communications in conjunction with The National Warplane Museum, the effort helped secure funding to allow the plane -- nicknamed Whiskey 7 -- and its crew to represent the United States during 70th Anniversary commemorations in France. Over the course of just four months, the team's work resulted in widespread feature coverage from some of the world's most respected media outlets, including The New York Times, NBC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, Fox News Channel, BBC, Al Jazeera, Le Figaro, Stars and Stripes and the Associated Press.
