Healthi Kids: Play ROCS Your Neighborhood
Healthi Kids (an initiative of Common Ground Health) sought McDougall Communications counsel to develop a communications and social media strategy for its annual Play ROCs Your Neighborhood event to promote safe and accessible spaces for play in the City of Rochester.
McDougall promoted Play ROCs Your Neighborhood pop-up play spaces in 20 locations throughout Rochester. Since then, as a result of our ongoing communications efforts each year, the number of participating sites has consistently grown over the years. Our work has encompassed media outreach and storyline pitching including live interviews on local TV morning/weekly news programs about the need for children to get outside and play once school breaks for the summer.
We have storyboarded content and secured freelance videographers to produce a three-minute video for Healthi Kids website and to show at play-related events. We also provided social media and website content collaboration and editing support, on-site media coordination and interview prep with Healthi Kids staff and local residents who take part in the program, post-event media reporting and analytics and facilitation and coordination of incoming media requests.
