Mike McDougall Speaks at PRSA
International Conference
International Conference
ROCHESTER, N.Y., October 15, 2018--Last week, Mike McDougall, APR and Fellow PRSA, attended the PRSA International Conference in Austin, Texas, where he spoke to a packed room about approaching crisis and issues as opportunities with incredible organizational upside.
Even the most comprehensive crisis and issues management plans too often overlook a high-value component: recognizing and seizing the multiple positive benefits afforded by critical organizational challenges. Generations of communications professionals have been taught to tackle the downside risks of crisis, but few understand how to reconfigure and harness looming problems for short- and long-term gain.
In “The Upside of Downturn,” McDougall laid out his contrarian, disruptive and industry pace-setting recommendations. Attendees walked away with new constructs for more effective crisis planning, inspired strategies to align the thinking of executives and peers to a nontraditional approach, and invaluable tools and techniques they could immediately employ. 2018 marked McDougall's 18th appearance as a featured PRSA International Conference speaker.
