Heather Kowalczyk, APR, helps clients turn complex ideas into clear, compelling stories and sustained visibility in their markets. With more than 20 years of experience, she builds and leads integrated public relations programs, guiding strategy from initial planning and positioning through ongoing execution.
Heather works with multinational companies and specialized innovators across optometry and ophthalmology, medical device, B2B technology, and professional services. Much of her work happens behind the scenes, shaping the stories, initiatives, and industry conversations that define how organizations are seen and understood.
Her experience spans media relations, thought leadership, crisis communications and reputation management, product and company launches, and executive visibility. She uncovers stories that others may miss, creating news where none seems obvious and establishing a steady cadence of meaningful exposure.
Heather’s work has been recognized with two Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil Awards—the highest honor in the profession—as well as numerous PRSA Rochester PRism Awards, including multiple Best of Show honors. In 2024, she was named one of Vision Monday's Most Influential Women in Optical.
Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the State University of New York College at Fredonia and is past president of the Rochester Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. She lives in Fairport, N.Y., with her husband and three children.
